Kairos Namibia Apr 2013The first Kairos course in Namibia was held in Windhoek, with 14 amazingly open and responsive participants. A great and wonderful opportunity now lies ahead to impact a major denomination within Namibia. A seed has been planted and already started sprouting during the course. People have already stood up to be included as facilitators, and are planning to run more courses in Namibia. The ground was thoroughly prepared by the Lord.

Meanwhile, Kairos seeds has been planted on Gambian soil with the completion of the first course from 20th to 24th May 2013.  The course was facilitated by an international team consisting of Ebenezer Aryee  (Kairos UK), Alan Webster (Kairos South Africa),  Daniel Appiah and Robbinson Albert (Kairos Ghana).

Kairos Gambia May 2013 resized furtherGambia is a predominantly Muslim populated country with about 94% of the population considered to be Islamic. Astonishingly, 54 participants from different West African countries such as Liberia, Guinea Bissau and Guinea Conakry registered for the course with 45 completing successfully.  It is amazing to note that 17 of the course graduates are Moslem background believers with 12 of them being part of the Fulani (Fula) church in  Gambia.

The presence of the Holy Spirit was felt strongly throughout the course with testimonies of healing, worldviews transformed and participants mobilized to reach the 17 least reached people groups in Gambia and the region beyond. One of the pastors prophetically declared that the Gambian church will be mobilized to reach the North of Africa!

Another significant thing happened during Contextualized worship. One of the pastors, Ps M (not his real name), a regal and gentle man, stood up and told the facilitators during the orientation that his heart was so glad because his congregation, comprising of the Fula people (a tribe considered almost unreachable because of their strong Moslem roots) had been worshiping according to the Fula cultural way, quite unlike the more Western style that is followed. They sit on mats on the floor and pray with their hands raised to chest level, etc.   Because of this they have been shunned by the other Christians because they are perceived to be clinging to their "muslim ways" and are therefore not fully Christian.  After the session, he felt affirmed that he was being led by the Spirit!   A degree of repentance followed the worship session and the Fulas were greatly honoured this time.

Nine of the graduates have been trained as facilitators with a follow up course later in the year.

Kairos is planted and an indigenous mission movement is about to germinate.

Kairos USA Chinese April 2013The Kairos USA team has seen the amazing growth and spread of Kairos throughout the U.S.  All that growth however is not just with the English language course.  In fact Kairos is actively conducted in three different languages in the U.S. - English, Spanish, and Chinese.

With a commitment to see Chinese Christians engaged in the Great Commission, missions mobilizers James Hung and Isaac Chan took the course for themselves and returned to southern California to see it launched there. Through a partnership of several organizations and churches in that region, as well as training from Allan Witkowski from the U.S. National Coordination Team and Chinese Language Coordinator, James Chak, Kairos has taken root and this network has flourished.

In just over a year 5 courses have been hosted with over 80 participants and more and more Facilitators and up and coming Head Facilitators continue to be trained. They continue to make forward progress with the launch of their own website,, and more courses, both in Chinese and English, are being planned for the year. The Chinese speaking community and all of southern California are surely experiencing the tremendous impact of Kairos!

Kairos South Africa Dec 2012When Kairos was run for Brackendowns Baptist Church in Alberton, South Africa, the facilitators thought the participants would be 'hard ground' to break,  But as the weeks went on, they saw the 'lights going on' in the eyes of the participants.

Many questions were being asked regarding outreach and the power point presentation, indicating that positive things were happening within the minds of those asking the questions. The growth point groups in the first few weeks started out at first with the facilitators having to drive the discussion, but towards the end of the course, the participants were driving the conversation.

By the end of the course, the  participants testified that their world views had changed and they were challenged to be involved in the Great Commission (GC) in a greater way.  An outreach to Russia was planned and some of the participants had gone on the trip. The missions committee of Brackendowns Baptist are now very keen to have facilitators trained and to have another Kairos course where more members of the congregation can participate in the course.

Kairos Russia HF Training April 2013Marinda, NC for Kairos Russia, and her team had the wonderful opportunity of training and coaching 3 new Kairos Head Facilitators (HF) in Southern Russia. Vlad is from Volgograd, Saslan from the Republic of Ossetia and Dima from Kabardina Balkaria. It was great to see these men in action in the two courses presented in Volgograd. They are amazing people with a vision to see the church in Russia mobilized for missions.

Vlad will organize 4 courses over the next few months. Dima is responsible for the Baptist missions movement in Southern Russia who has a vision to mobilize all their congregations in this region with Kairos. God is moving in amazing ways in Southern Russia, stirring His church to reach out to the 48 Least Reached people groups in this region.

Kairos Philippines Baliwag Dec 2012“An answer to prayer”  was Ptr. Derek Parfan’s response to the first Kairos Course conducted in his church, Baliwag Bible Christian Church, Philippines. The church has been praying for a long time to be mobilized for missions. Participants were invited by the facilitators personally so that from the first batch will come a group of at least 12 facilitators who will help mobilize the whole church for world missions. Key leaders were also invited to participate so that they will begin to see missions integrated in all the key ministries of the church.

According to Ptr. Derek, who also served as the HF in this course, the Kairos Course exceeded their modest expectations. Now, a new believer is already praying that God will send her to an unreached people group. One participant is also praying that God will use him to fund a Bible translation project. They also witnessed "old" believers who only now begin to realize the importance of their call to participate in Abraham's call to be a blessing to the nations. They are now excited to be actively involved in evangelism, in praying for the unreached, in sacrificial giving and maintaining a simple lifestyle.

The church envision that God will use them to be a key instrument in mobilizing other churches in the Luzon region through the Kairos Course.
